Trick in This Treat
Edible graphics, anyone? No? Think again.
Carolyn Savos, President of
Youcake.com adds the "Wow-factor" to events by creating personal and corporate
branded sweets for special occasions, holidays showers, party favors, trade
shows, and promotional campaigns.
Her company uses a unique software
application that is far superior in the images it produces to ordinary cake
design services that allows clients to get custom edible prints. They print your
one-of-a-kind design on edible paper on a food grade printer using edible inks
and then ship to your home, bakery, or event location. I’ve seen and tasted them
and they are terrific.
Says Carolyn, “What we love about
YouCake is the product is a metaphor for customer celebrations; they are visual
representations of how customers want to celebrate themselves, friends, products
or their business.”
“My favorite example is a
customer that sent us an image for her daughter's bat mitzvah. It was a drawing
her daughter Meredith had done. We delivered the shipment to their home in Far
Rockaway which at the time was still devastated by the Hurricane. Our delivery
person Rien said that the father answered the door and, after the year they had
just had, their daughter growing up...he was not expecting to see his daughter's
drawing on a cookie. He was so moved, he started to well up. The father said to
Rien, ‘Thank you so much, if I had a pastrami sandwich I would give it you...’"
“The moral of my story is that
metaphors are a great way to provide meaningful expressions and explanations.
They can become their own artifact -- which then becomes a great story about
your business and services.”
